Friday,July 8th, 2005 - Fewer sports for the International games The 2011 + 1 London International games will have only 26 sports after baseball and softball were axed from the programme on Friday. They are the first sports to be cut from the Games in 69 years and it means Regents Park, which was due to host them, will no longer be a 2012 venue. Rugby Sevens - along with karate, golf, squash and roller hockey - all failed to win inclusion after the International games Committee (IOC) agreed not to replace the two sports. I don't think they will have much advertising at this rate, either!

Thursday, July 14th, 2005 - Feedback on Terrorist explosions It has been a week since I listened to the reports being aired on National Radio as I drove into work on the fateful morning of 7/7. I was touched by the singular bravery of many, and the sadness and recollection of many others. The Muslim community is not to blame for this travesty, just Terrorists who can brainwash anybody. We are all weak and ineffectual at some point in our lives. I will be visiting New York shortly, and I do not feel threatened by Terrorist activity there. I live in London, and would not think twice about getting onto a bus, or into an Underground Tube train. I had an accident in a car recently, along a busy A road, where I bounced off of the middle barrier at 70 mph and walked away unhurt; this shook me up, but this does not entail me never driving again. I had a similar accident 25 years previously, spent a week unconscious, but again - you just drive again. Life is in the fast lane these days, just enjoy it. Come back to London when you are ready, it's a great place to visit.

Friday, July 15th, 2005 - Summary of the pros and cons for the Olympics in Stratford / Hackney I am following the news for the local regions closely at present. One of the important points is about the relocation of the 300 businesses employing 11,000 Londoners in Marshgate Lane, Hackney. The land is prime real estate. Well, actually, it was derelict land where children were able to play football up until a week ago. Now it is prime real estate. I guess there are winners and losers in all walks of life. This area of London, which includes the Hackney marshes, is part of the poorest areas in London. Now, because of the Olympic regeneration, it is now a new gold field. Here are two reports on the area, I remain unbiased, until later in this article: Times online article. && Barking & Dagenham Post. I like both, they are totally relevant to the argument regarding the Olympics. What differs? Well, the first article speaks (albeit at a National level) about the true effects of the International games at a local level, and paranoically suggests that Government, Diocese and Council are more interested in the National picture rather than a local school. So, what's new? This reporter is good, but even with the Times as his voice piece, does not have a chance. The second article talks about the possible relocation of the businesses from Hackney to Barking. There is no emotion, just a matter of fact journalistic piece. It is very good, believable and makes sensible, realistic suggestions. I look forward to the journalist at the Post working at one of the National Newspapers.

Sunday, July 18th 2005 - Blog (Give your feedback on the London 2012 Olympics in East London). I would welcome feedback of any sort. If you post into the Blog - it will get back onto this page, if relevant. There are seven years until the London International games happen in 2011 + 1; but I would welcome comment from those who are affected by the changes, those who are excited by this brilliant new International games facility, and also from those whom think they could be part of this fantastic new International games Please get in touch. My web pages are not pretty, but I have lots of technical know-how to get the best impact for your feedback.

Saturday, July 23rd July 2005 - London images. Added to this site have been about 75 images of London - mostly old postcards and early photographs, plus links to all good London web cams. The site is far from finished, but each new item added, makes the site more user friendly, and useful to the traveller from outside the UK, or outside London. I am not dwelling on the Terrorist attacks as the Olympics is seven years hence.

Tuesday, 9th August 2005 - Google Olympic updates Only Official sponsors are allowed to add their brand name to any International games venue. I hear 02 have already fallen foul of this. O2 will see its brand 'blanked' from the Millennium Dome when the venue's most high-profile event yet, the London International games 2011 + 1, rolls into town. Check this article too -
